Mediation
conflict counselling
training in the reduction of the level of violence
residential courses for individuals, teams and groups
from businesses and social and public institutions

Conflicts are normal occurrences between people who work together, who therefore have to coordinate and organise themselves and to cooperate. In order to avoid hampering people in their everyday work, skills are needed for managing conflicts and for finding solutions for them. These skills are often lacking in many teams and groups. Even the ability to recognize a conflict and its causes is sometimes lacking. It clearly follows that in such situations work processes become more difficult, losses through friction increase and productivity falls.

In such cases organisations and businesses increasingly opt for mediation, i.e. for conflict mediation through an external and impartial third person.

Social and public institutions have set themselves the aim of improving general welfare. Often such general welfare considerations enter into conflict with the nature of the working conditions and the possibility of evolving differentially within a work structure. Here, due to the amount of work, specific conflict situations arise. This should be kept in mind whilst working through a conflict.

Specifically for this domain, the ikm offers mediation, conflict counselling- and management, residential courses and training in reducing the levels of violence for individuals, teams, groups and entire organisations or firms.

Mediation sessions are agreed upon at short notice, so that mediation in a current conflict between two disputants can immediately be arranged.

Conflict counselling for teams or larger groups begins with a first conversation, followed by a conflict analysis and a suggestion for the further handling of the conflict within the group. Working through individual conflicts is moreover possible. Anyway, our main approach is that the conflictual structure of the entire group or organisation must be taken into consideration.

After discussing the cases which are to be dealt with, training for the reduction of violence levels can be arranged. Residential courses aim at educating the employees in such a manner that what has been learnt can be used and passed on to other colleagues.

After discussing the financial strictures, the projected costs are agreed upon; which means that we also give advice to all groups and institutions as to the possibility of financing the required measures.
